Elisa Balmaceda
(Santiago, Chile, 1985)
Artista e investigadora transdisciplinaria. Su trabajo explora relaciones entre lo material, lo invisible y lo espiritual en el paisaje energético y electromagnético contemporáneo. Entrelazando distintos saberes, y usando la luz, el sonido, la video-instalación y el trabajo de campo, su práctica explora fenómenos ecológicos que vinculan cuerpo, tecnología y territorio, y dan forma a nuestra percepción temporal, espacial, cosmológica e imaginaria en torno a los ciclos y las fuerzas más-que-humanas.
Ha participado de las residencias Simulacros Interplanetarios de Terremoto (Sonora, 2024), Transmediale (Berlín, 2023) y Tsonami Arte Sonoro (Valparaíso, 2021), entre otras, y ha sido reconocida con el KHM Award for Women Artist (Alemania, 2017) y el Premio Municipal de Arte Joven (Chile, 2018). Entre sus últimas exposiciones destacan FESTIVAL TRANSMEDIALE: A STORY, A MAP, A FICTION, Akademie of the Arts (AdK), Berlín, Alemania (2023); DEL CIELO AL AGUA Y LO QUE ESTÁ EN EL CENTRO, curada por Valentina Montero y Jocelyn Contreras, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Santiago, Chile (2023); DEVORAR EL TRUENO, curada por Merlina Rañi. Espacio CaSo, Buenos Aires, Argentina ; ARS ELECTRÓNICA (Gardens): Polygonal Forest, curado por Fundación Mar Adentro (2022).
Trabaja como docente invitada en diversas instituciones educacionales, y es co-creadora de la plataforma virtual y laboratorio experimental visionaryecologies.xyz , un proyecto de arte y ecología albergado en el Centro Interdisciplinario de Investigación en Ecología Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (Alemania). También es colaboradora del Centro de artes y tecnologías Latinoamericanas Toda la teoría del Universo (Chile), y actualmente participa como tallerista invitada en la Cátedra Max Aub de Arte y Tecnología de la UNAM (México).

Transdisciplinary artist and researcher. Her work explores the relationships between the material, the invisible, and the spiritual within the contemporary energetic and electromagnetic landscape. Interweaving different forms of knowledge and employing light, sound, video installations, and fieldwork, her practice explores ecological phenomena that connect body, technology, and territory, and shape our temporal, spatial, cosmological, and imaginary perceptions of cycles and more-than-human forces.

She works as a guest lecturer at various educational institutions and is co-creator of the virtual platform and experimental laboratory visionaryecologies.xyz, an art and ecology project hosted by the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (Germany). She is also a collaborator of the Latin American Arts and Technologies Center Toda la teoría del Universo (Chile), and is currently participating as a guest workshop leader at the Max Aub Chair of Art and Technology at UNAM (Mexico).
