Elisa Balmaceda
(Santiago, Chile, 1985)
Artista e investigadora transdisciplinar. A través de la luz, el sonido, el video y el trabajo de campo, su práctica entrelaza ciencia moderna y saberes tradicionales para explorar las vibraciones invisibles del mundo: campos electromagnéticos, ritmos solares, memorias del territorio y fuerzas más-que-humanas que modelan el tiempo y el paisaje.
Ha exhibido su trabajo en instituciones y festivales como el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Santiago (Chile), transmediale (Alemania), el Museo de Arte de Sonora (México), la Akademie der Künste de Berlín (Alemania), Ars Electronica (Austria) y Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien (Alemania), entre otros.
Es licenciada en Artes Visuales (UC), magíster en Arte y Tecnología por la Academy of Media Arts Cologne y candidata a doctora en Investigación Artística en la Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Paralelamente, ejerce como profesora invitada en distintas instituciones y es co-creadora de visionaryecologies.xyz, una plataforma dedicada al arte y la ecología alojada por el Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (Alemania).

Elisa Balmaceda

Transdisciplinary artist and researcher. Through light, sound, video, and fieldwork, her practice weaves together modern science and traditional knowledge to explore the invisible vibrations of the world: electromagnetic fields, solar rhythms, territorial memories, and more-than-human forces that shape time and landscape.
She has exhibited her work at institutions and festivals such as the Museum of Contemporary Art of Santiago (Chile), transmediale (Germany), the Museum of Art of Sonora (Mexico), the Akademie der Künste in Berlin (Germany), Ars Electronica (Austria), and Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien (Germany), among others.
She holds a BA in Visual Arts (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile), an MA in Art and Technology from the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, and is a PhD candidate in Artistic Research at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. In parallel, she serves as a visiting lecturer at various institutions and is co-creator of visionaryecologies.xyz, a platform dedicated to art and ecology hosted by the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (Germany).
